A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MISS MELINDA ANN KING FOR HER REIGN AS MISS MISSISSIPPI 1998.
WHEREAS, Melinda Ann King, a native of Waynesboro, Mississippi was selected as Miss Mississippi 1998; and
WHEREAS, Melinda Ann King's platform issue, Project R.E.A.D.Y. (Relating Exercise and Diet to Youngsters), is the result of her commitment to teaching young children to lead healthy lifestyles; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of her commitment to inform Mississippi youth of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, Governor Fordice appointed Melinda Ann King to the Governor's Commission on Physical Fitness and Sports; and
WHEREAS, Melinda Ann King is a senior at the University of Southern Mississippi and is majoring in Dietetics and Nutrition; and
WHEREAS, Melinda Ann King has been an active member of the Student Government Association at USM; and
WHEREAS, the Senate wishes to pay a special tribute to a remarkable young woman, Miss Melinda Ann King, for her outstanding representation of the state during her reign as Miss Mississippi; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Miss Mississippi 1998, Miss Melinda Ann King, whose reign has brought honor to this state and for her commitment to the youth of this state and wish her continued success in her endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Miss Melinda Ann King.
